TRADITIONS
As Jewish groups developed across global geographies and cultures, so too did their traditions. Sephardic and Mizrahi communities have numerous ancient, robust, and vibrant practices which distinguish them from their Ashkenazi counterparts. Some communities celebrate distinct holidays like Mimouna (Morocco) and Nowruz (Iran) and many follow particular prayer traditions, philosophies, and rituals that were developed centuries ago. Other times Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews share practices with neighboring cultural groups. As Sephardic and Mizrahi people have migrated around the world, these traditions connect communities to their histories and to each other.
