FOOD

Sephardic cuisine refers to the foods eaten by both Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews, whose origins and recipes have come from a variety of countries and regions including Spain, North Africa, the Middle East, and the Balkans. In the early 20th century, Sephardic Jews began to arrive in Los Angeles, bringing with them Middle Eastern and Arabic recipes which had been blended with refined flavors found in Jewish cooking. Sephardic cuisine retains the character of its unique heritage, a panoply of foods from many different lands and intermingling cultures.
